"Good shipping, just a bit slow to start"
I ordered a book from The Folio Society and overall the shipping experience was solid. It did take a few days before I got the dispatch email, and I’ll admit I was starting to worry a bit because I really didn’t want to risk the order getting delayed or anything going wrong. But once it actually shipped, it arrived faster than I expected. The packaging was secure too, so the book showed up with no damage, which was a relief. I’m taking one star off just because that initial wait felt a little too long, but I’d still order from them again.

"Lovely Paper, Surprisingly Enough"
I picked up a couple of Folio books and, wow, the paper is actually really nice. Thick, smooth, and not that flimsy see-through stuff you get in some books that somehow still cost plenty. It makes reading feel a lot better, which is apparently not too much to ask. Worth it for me.

"Pretty smooth preorder overall"
I preordered a new release and it showed up around the time they said it would. The updates were decent, although I did have to log into my account once just to double-check what was going on. Packaging was sturdy like it usually is, so no complaints there. I just wish the dispatch info had been a little clearer

"Beautiful books, but I wait for a deal"
I have to admit, Folio Society books do feel really lovely and a bit special when you get them. The quality is definitely there, though I’m not always completely convinced the full prices are easy to justify. I usually hold off until there’s a discount or sale, and then it feels a lot more reasonable. Shipping can make the total creep up too, which is why I don’t order very often. Still, when the timing is right and there’s a decent offer, I’m usually happy with what I get. Giving 4 stars because I do really like the books, I just wish the deals came around a bit more often

"Safe Delivery, But the Wait Was Annoying"
The delivery arrived safely, which I’m glad about, but it was a bit late and the waiting got frustrating. I kept checking for updates, so that part wasn’t great

"The cover looks good, and I do..."
The cover looks good, and I do like it. I guess I was just expecting a little more from the slipcase for the price. It’s not bad or anything, but it feels kind of plain. Maybe I’m just mentally drained lately, but when I opened it, I didn’t really get that excited feeling I was hoping for.

The return process was okay overall, I think. It wasn’t really a hassle, which was nice, but the replacement definitely seemed to take a while to show up. Not a huge issue, but I was kind of expecting it a little sooner.

I was expecting at least one little dent, but there were no dents at all. The packaging was solid, and everything arrived looking great. It’s kind of ridiculous how careful they were with it, in a good way.

So... the illustrations are really beautiful and make the books feel special. A few pages even looked better than I expected. I’m giving 4 stars because the price is still high, but overall I’m happy with them.

I really love how solid the spine and pages feel. It gives the whole book a sense of quality, like it’s something meant to be used, kept, and come back to over time. There’s something nice about holding a book that feels sturdy, it makes the experience feel a little more meaningful.

"Nice selection, but a little clunky for me"
I’ll admit I’m a bit picky about online browsing, especially when it comes to books. The site had a lot of lovely-looking titles and I enjoyed looking around, but the pages loaded a little slower than I’d like. I also wish the filters were easier to use, since I like narrowing things down quickly. It wasn’t a bad experience at all, just mildly annoying in spots.

I mostly buy Folio books because they just feel special. A bit harder to find later too. Not cheap. Definitely not. But they look amazing on my shelf, so I don’t really regret it.

"Really impressed with the reading experience"
I picked up a couple of books from Folio Society, the thing that jumped out at me most was the typography. Is it just me, or does the font and spacing make a huge difference? The pages feel so clean and not crowded at all, and the text size is perfect for settling in and reading for a while. It sounds like such a small detail, but it really does make the whole experience more comfortable. No eye strain, and the layout has this calm, easy feel to it. I’m really happy with them.
